Bit is my name, cute is my game…have you ever heard of the Willow Center? If not, let me fill you in. The Willow Center provides peer support groups for children and teens grieving the death of someone close to them and extends supportive services, grief resources and education to families, care givers and the community free of charge. They rely on volunteers and donations to help them offer these services. There are countless lives being affected and supported in the Lewis-Clark Valley and the outlying communities by the Willow Center. That’s right, they’re local and any finances donated stay local. CrossFit Rove, Coca-Cola, and the City of Lapwai decided the Willow Center was a worthy cause to support. Don’t you?
This Saturday, July 13th out at the Lapwai High School football field, Lapwai Days is hosting the CrossFit Warrior Challenge. The cost to participate is $20 and registration is open to the first 40 people. Registration starts at 8am. All levels of experience are welcome. There is no cost to watch and cheer on the participants and there will be a free kid’s event, vendors, and other Lapwai Days activities. ALL PROCEEDS (that’s right, everything) will be donated to the Willow Center. Guess what…I’LL BE THERE!!! That’s right, your favorite little pig will be signing hoofmarks! As if you needed another reason to go. Check out the Willow Center’s webpage: www.willow-center.org.
